"THE ECONOMIST" SURVEY OF THE UNITED STATES
We find it fascinating to read non-U.S. perspectives about
the United States, particularly when it comes from a thoughtful source
such as THE ECONOMIST.
If "demography is destiny" then the current wave of
immigration to the United States should be regarded with "guarded optimism:"
without the current immigrant flow, "rich countries tend to
get old fast." But it is changing the face of society and creating new
entrepreneurial opportunities for those who can grasp the social changes
going on and take advantage of them.
